Meet the Team
JUNE MARTINO - DIRECTOR Miss June has studied under the tutorialship of Frank Hatchett of Broadway Dance Center, Luigi's, the former Jo-Jo Smith's Dance Factory and Melissa Hayden, all in New York City. She has also taken classes with and from Wayne Celanto the Tony Award winner for best choreographer of the Who's "Tommy". She continues her studies in New York City as well as numerous conventions for dance teachers learning new trends and techniques in dance education. She is a member of PDTA, DMA and was a member of the Former Brookhaven Theatre Dance Guild since the Guild's formation in 1981, and also served on the board. Miss June has appeared in a production of the Tree Artist, directed by Tazwell Thompson, and performed at the Gateway Playhouse and the John Drew Guild Theatre in Southampton. She has performed in Dance Spectrum (BTDG summer performance). In addition to performing, Miss June also choreographed plays for local schools. Miss June has danced professionally for many years and for the past 25 years has been teaching the beautiful art of dance to all ages and all levels from pre-school classes to advanced company (competition classes). She teaches the love of dance to her students through encouragement, praise, hard work and understanding.
JEANNE DICKERSON - TEACHER - TAP, JAZZ, LYRICAL, BALLET, MUSICAL THEATRE Jeanne has studied with Frank Hatchett, Luigi, Germaine Salsberg, Brenda Buffalino, Alexander Filipov and Finis Jung. In addition to classes she has studied at workshops with world renowned teacher/choreographers such as Gwen Verdon, Gus Giordano, Maurice Hines, Peff Modelski. She is a member of Dance Educators of America and the former Brookhaven Theatre Dance Guild. Jeanne has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Performance with a minor in dance at SUNY Fredonia and has performed with the Orchesis Dance Company in many productions. Jeanne has been a teacher on Long Island since 1986. She has been teaching at Releve Dance Centre since 1996. Her experience includes teaching pre-school through adults at all levels in jazz (Luigi, Lyrical, Classical and Funk), tap (various styles), and ballet (Cecchetti and Vaganova).
CHARLYN DILORENZO - TEACHER - ACRO Charlyn began her training at the age of 11 and never stopped. She has studied acrobatics under the direction of former Rockette Frances Landrum, "circus strongman" Ted Magnum and 1976 Olympic hopeful, Dennis Bastian, at Landrum School of Dance in Queens. She has also taken tumbling classes at Chelsea Piers Field House taught by Link Blake. She has competed for and on the gymnastics team at St. Agnes Academic High School, Landrum School and the Loupakis Family Acrobatics and Karate Studio where she also choreographed routines for competition. Miss Charlyn is affiliated with Antigravity Dance & Gymnastics Co., a terrific talent company who promotes dancers and gymnasts and also perform themselves (many of her students are also affiliated with Antigravity for possible work in commercials, ads, off-Broadway, etc). She began her teaching career in 1980 at the age of 17 as a student acro teacher at Landrum School of Dance in Queens and continued her career teaching at various studios in Queens. Miss Charlyn has been teaching at Releve Dance Centre since 2003 where she has built a successful acro program.
KATIE PASFIELD - TEACHER - JAZZ, HIPHOP, LYRICAL, CONTEMPORARY, TECHNIQUE Katie is an alumna from Releve Dance Centre. She started dancing with Releve at the age of 5 and continued with them through High School. Through Releve she has participated in many of the competitions Releve does, including Dance Olympus and Starbound. She had the privilege of studying under many professional teachers and choreographers on the Dance Olympus VIP Tour when she was 16. She also took a Summer Intensive at Point Park University. Katie also had the honor of being part of ADTLI where she performed many roles in "The Nutcracker" and taken part in regular recitals. She has recently graduated from Dean College with her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a concentration in Dance. There she studied Tap, Hip Hop, Ballet and Modern. She was Captain of the Dean College Dance Team and was highly involved in all of the student-choreographed shows. She was also accepted to choreograph a piece for the Choreographers' Showcase, where she received positive feedback from many talented and professional choreographers and teachers. While at Dean College she was part of their Hip Hop and Tap Companies.
HALIE CORPAC - TEACHER TAP, JAZZ, ACRO, TECHNIQUE Miss Halie is an alumni of Releve' Dance Centre. She began dancing at the age of five, studying in all genres of dance. Miss Halie became a student teacher, under the direction of Miss June and staff, a company member, an instructor, and a choreographer. Miss Halie joined the staff of Releve' in 2009 first as a substitute teacher, then becoming a staff teacher. Miss Halie is also one of the choreographers for the holiday parade routines and for the closing number of the annual recital. Miss Halie furthered her education by studying at Broadway Dance Center, conventions and touring with Dance Olympus/Dance America as a VIP working with many world-renown teachers. During her dance career, Miss Halie received many gold, overall high score, choreography awards and specialty awards for pieces she performed in, as well as choreographed.
JENN GARGIULO - TEACHER - TAP, JAZZ, HIP HOP, FLEXIBILITY Jennifer comes to us from Buffalo, New York, recently moving to the Long Island area. She has been trained in jazz, tap, hip-hop, ballet, lyrical/contemporary, and acrobatics and has been teaching for the past 13 years. Last year, Jennifer was an assistant coach/choreographer for the Sachem East JV Arrowettes Dance Team who were named "Long Island Jazz Champions". Jennifer has had the opportunity to be an assistant teacher for Gino Vaccaro and Dan Karaty (judge/choreographer on "So You Think You Can Dance") on Tremaine Dance Conventions. She has taken numerous intensives in NYC and Los Angeles; has continued her studies with Tremaine, JUMP, and NYCDA Dance Conventions; and has studied with world renowned teachers Wade Robson, Joe Tremaine, Mia Michaels, Dave Scott, Marty Dew, Doug Caldwell, Liz Imperio, Mandy Morre, Laurie Johnson, Mr, Wiggles, Groovaloos (Bradley Rapier, Alison Faulk, Keeley) etc. Jennifer has performed in the Michael Landon Fashion Awards in NYC; Terpsichorean Delights Choreography Showcase in Beverly Hills; Epcot, Magic Kingdom and MGM in Orlando; and an international festival in Poland for a month. Jennifer is also the Director of a regional dance competition "The Dance Championships" currently touring in Buffalo and Rochester, NY and expanding to include Long Island, NY in the future.
JESSICA SNYDER- TEACHER - BALLET, POINTE, COMTEMPORARY Jessica was trained in classical ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, theater dance, tap, afro-caribbean folk, ballroom, voice, acting. She studied with Frank Ohman, Arsenio Andrade, Nina Buisson, Diego Funes, Chet Walker, Vera Huff, Barry Moncliff, Barbara Simon and Rick Imerman. Miss Jessica continued her training taking workshops/master classes with Elizabeth Parkinson, Mia Michael, Ann Reinking, Jane Comfort, Lula Washington, Bill T. Jones, Stacy Cadell, New Orleans Jazz Dance Project, Wade Madsen, Jennie Hill, Ed Kresley, Ausettua Armor Amemkum. In addition to her training she has appeared in film, television and commercial/print work. She was a principal dancer with Mad Cap Dance Company, principal dancer/choreographer with So Dance Collective, principal dancer/percussionist with Variations Dance Company and a soloist with Newcomb Dance Company and New York Dance Theatre. Miss Jessica has also performed in regional theater in productions of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, La Traviata, Romeo and Juliette to name a few. In addition to her performing, she has taught at Variations, Ohman School of Ballet, the Rinx as ballet coach for competition level figure skaters, Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School, and Great Neck Gymnastics Center as a dance coach.
MARLENA FRANCIS - TEACHER - HIPHOP Marlena has been teaching the children of Long Island since 1997. She began her dance education at Vic D'Amore Studio of Dance and continued her training at Broadway Dance Centre. In the course of her training she competed with the Vic D'Amore dancers and helped her team to win many high awards. In her professional career as a teacher she became an award winning choreographer. Marlena is also a certified Zumba Instructor.
Jana Behonick - Lyrical, Jazz-Jana has been involved in the dance community since she started dancing at the age of two. Jana was a member of the Children’s program at Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan, under the direction of Frank Hatchett. Jana has studied dance with some of the greatest dancers such as Charles Kelly and Frank Hatchett. She has attended numerous dance conventions hosted by Joe Tremaine, and continually studies what’s new and evolving in dance to keep her students up-to-date with today’s dance trends. As a competitive dancer herself from the age of 5, Jana has competed on both the Regional and National circuit of many of today’s leading competitions. Having been a winner at all levels of competition, Jana knows what it means to put time and hard work into something you love. In addition to being a winning competitive dancer, she is now an award winning choreographer. Her students have gone on to be both Regional and National dance champions in the competition circuit, where they have received numerous technique awards. Jana loves to share her passion with dance with her students no matter what their age or ability.
Sarah Woolsey- Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop- Sarah is an Alumni from Releve Dance Center where she competed on the team all throughout high school in styles including jazz, hip hop, lyrical, ballet and contemporary. Prior to competing on Releve’s competition team, she trained mainly in ballet at ADTLI where she played numerous rolls in “The Nutcracker” along with dancing at benefits and end of the year recitals. Since graduating high school in 2018, Sarah has gone on to complete for the St.Josephs College dance team partaking in various half time performances, fundraisers and competing at the UDA national competition in Florida this past year.
